Orem, Utah (MMD Newswire) September 3, 2009 -- DoxTek, Inc., a value added reseller in the document imaging and electronic document management industry, was recently granted approval to sell the Patriot line of high speed document scanners from manufacturer Visioneer through its GSA Schedule 70 Contract. The GSA compliant scanners are available for immediate purchase by federal and state agencies according to federal buying regulations.
Visioneer makes a line of scanners specifically to meet stringent federal purchasing guidelines that include the country of origin, guaranteed letter of supply and other requirements. Visioneer Patriot scanners include small footprint, desktop scanners from 15 pages per minute (ppm) up to workgroup and low-volume production scanners capable of scanning upwards of 60 ppm.

Federal purchasing officers prefer to use contractors with GSA Schedule Contracts because it speeds up the procurement process. Buying on Schedule meets the requirements for full and open competition without the extra time and expense usually associated with such bidding processes. Essentially Schedule Contract holders have already been "pre-approved" to meet certain performance and reliability guidelines, and are required to offer the government "preferred customer" pricing to ensure that the government gets the best price available.
Furthermore, the Visioneer Patriot scanners and other high speed document scanners sold by DoxTek, are eligible under two special purchasing programs: 1) Cooperative Purchasing, and 2) American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). The Cooperative Purchasing designation indicates that the product is available for purchase by State and local government entities in accordance with Section 211 of the E-Government Act of 2002. The ARRA designation indicates the contractor has accepted the terms, conditions, and reporting requirements of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), and is eligible to fulfill ARRA orders.
