TEQUESTA, Fla. (MMD Newswire) June 22, 2010 -- Death by Drugs: How Modern Medicine Has Betrayed Us All by Stephen D. Herman, M.D. endeavors to expose the pharmaceutical and medical industries, claiming they have introduced various drugs that can be harmful to patients. The book also seeks to reveal the origin of the AIDS epidemic.

Death by Drugs purports to disclose the facts and myths on medicines such as Vioxx, Lipitor, Tamiflu and Aspirin. Herman also offers data on the benefits and risks of vitamins, free radicals, antioxidants and vaccines.

Herman shares that he was personally affected by the AIDS pandemic in 1986, when his stepson was diagnosed with AIDS. After discovering that his stepson's chemotherapy treatment was not beneficial, Herman researched an alternate, nontoxic immune stimulation method with the Kenya Medical Research Institute and performed clinical trials for the treatment of AIDS and rheumatoid arthritis.
