Attendees will be also informed of treatment options that are provided for various heath disparities that affect ethnic communities. These series of monthly events will consist of panel discussions along with Q & A sessions for audience members. There will also be monthly bone marrow drives. For more than 120 years The Salvation Army has been delivering services and hope to the less fortunate on the streets of New York and to those in shelters, schools, and daycare centers across the Greater New York Area. Internationally, it is an organization with a lineage of public service that dates back to 1865, and has evolved over the decades into a social service provider with an unmatched scope and breadth. The Salvation Army currently has representation in over 120 different countries worldwide, in addition to nearly 8,000 centers of operation across the United States. Preserve Our Legacy, Inc. a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit, whose mission is to educate individuals, especially those from various ethnic groups, about the benefits of stem cells through treatment options provided via PBSC, bone marrow and umbilical cord blood donation. The organization also spearheaded Jaden's Law to increase awareness about PBSC and bone marrow donation within various ethnic communities. Preserve Our Legacy launched the first educational program, P.O.L. Umbilical Cord Blood Program at Harlem Hospital in December 2010.
Since Jaden's death, Preserve Our Legacy has been advocating to increase awareness about the need of various ethnic donors, in addition to, having those that register to step up when called to help a patient. "I'm pleased to announce our goal to increase awareness amongst various communities by hosting a series of monthly events.
