Paul Deuchar, Executive Chairman of Argon Technology, a leading robotic mining and robotic engineering company, has been honoured as a winner at the recent '40Under40' Gala Awards held in Perth, Western Australia. This prestigious, annual, event, was attended by Governor, Premier, Lord Mayor and over 900 other guests, who applauded the presentation of 44 awards. The awards recognise not only the determination and commercial drive of the winners, but also the philanthropic pursuits that balance their corporate achievements and therefore also publically acknowledge the contribution they make to their region.
This is not the first such award for Mr Deuchar. In 2009 he was recognised as 'Young Engineer of the Year', Western Australia. Following that achievement, he was later recognised as a finalist by Ernst and Young's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2011.
"STRIVING to make the impossible possible" was at the heart of Paul Deuchars' decision to found Argon Technology at the age of 24. It was while studying Mechanical Engineering at Curtin University, that Mr Deuchar identified the need for a company that could provide robotic engineering services to the soon-to-be booming, resource sector.
Based on that idea and a solid vision, Argon Technology was born in 2004 and quickly grew into the largest robotic engineering organisation in the state of Western Australia, with clients that include BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto and Bluescope Steel. The company now boasts highly skilled staff, with a focus on excellence and innovation. Mr Deuchar himself has overseen the training of more than 100 engineers, and he is also greatly committed to creating a work environment that is both enjoyable and professionally rewarding for all who work at Argon.
