February 8, 2010 (MMD Newswire) -- Scottish Barrister Rex Graves is out of his element when he visits his son, Campbell, at a northern Florida college in C.S. Challinor's third mystery novel, PHI BETA MURDER (March, Midnight Ink).
During the first day of the visit, a student is found hanging from a rope in his locked dorm room. Although the police dismiss Dixon Clark's death as a suicide, Dixon's parents think otherwise and enlist the help of Rex to try to uncover the mystery surrounding the tragedy. Between bonding with Campbell and coping with an unhinged ex-girlfriend, home from Iraq, who follows him across the Atlantic, Rex conducts his own investigation, uncovering an unsavory side of college life.
Though born in the States (Bloomington, Ind.) and now residing permanently in Southwest Florida, C. S. Challinor was educated in Scotland and England, and holds a joint honors degree in Latin and French from the University of Canterbury, Kent, as well as a diploma in Russian from the Pushkin Institute in Moscow.
