Blastoff Network Partners with The Dallas Morning News and WFAA to Launch the Unique Local Network

DALLAS, TX (MMD Newswire) November 20, 2009 -- Blastoff Network, in partnership with The Dallas Morning News and WFAA, announced today the launch of DFWblastoff.com, a new online portal that offers a single-site experience for local consumers.

Using the already popular portal engine of BlastoffNetwork.com, the partnership developed DFWblastoff.com, a local customizable internet portal featuring lifestyle content, access to local news and information from The Dallas Morning News and WFAA, the Belo Corp. owned, ABC television affiliate in D-FW, and an online shopping mall featuring more than 400 well-known retailers. It also includes a cash-back program that pays members when their friends and family shop online through the site. Other features include videos and music, free retro games, sports and entertainment news.

The added "social media" features allow users to create a network by inviting friends to sign up on DFWblastoff.com. When the users and their friends shop at any of DFWblastoff.com's more than 400 online retail partner sites, they receive "cash back" on each purchase. In turn, each of those new members can encourage others to signup and will receive cash back on their purchases as well.

"Our technology encourages these kinds of partnerships for multiple levels of success. It is even further enhanced by the "local" aspect," said Adam Smith, co-founder of Blastoff Network. "DFWblastoff.com not only creates a great home page portal experience for local consumers, but also puts money in their pockets."

"We are pleased to partner with The Blastoff Network, which gives us a unique way to engage with our local consumers," said John McKeon, president and general manager of The Dallas Morning News. "DFWblastoff.com gives readers a one-stop portal to shop local retailers and access our news and information portfolio."

"The Internet and WFAA.com is a significant part of the television station's overall news, information, advertising and retail strategy," said Mike Devlin, WFAA president and general manager. "We believe this portal will provide additional opportunity for consumers to access WFAA-created content, and we are pleased to be connected to DFWblastoff.com."
