Interview TV's Real Life MONSTER HUNTER ...
For the last nine years, documentary filmmaker Peter von Puttkamer (AKA, "The Monster Hunter") has been seeking the monsters of myth and legend all over the world. Producer/Director of the award-winning “Sasquatch Odyssey: The Hunt for Bigfoot” and “Monster Hunters” series, von Puttkamer has been searching the planet for fabled creatures for networks like TLC, Discovery Channel and Animal Planet.
Growing up alongside Native Americans and producing films about them for 25 years inspired von Puttkamer to track down the truth behind their fantastic legends, artworks, stories, and sightings. His more than 150 films have won over 65 international awards and his exploits have taken him from the mist-shrouded valleys of the Pacific Northwest, to the Australian bush, over the mystical bogs of Southern England, through New Jersey’s dark Pine Barrens to the steamy Amazon jungles and recently— to the top of the legendary Lost World Plateau of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Now, on his latest and perhaps grandest adventure…The Real Lost World (premiering on Animal Planet Dec 10th, Discovery HD Theater Dec 14th) von Puttkamer unravels the true story behind the author of Sherlock Holmes’s greatest mystery: The Lost World.
Do Dinosaurs and Apemen really exist in the remote regions of the Amazon and did these Indian and explorer’s tales about a tepui called Roraima inspire Doyle to write his book – the granddaddy of all dinosaur tales?
In search of the truth about Roraima, Von Puttkamer took a modern day team of adventurers and scientists across Venezuelan swamps, rivers, savannah and up the mystical 9200 ft. plateau. It took a team of 50 Indian porters to get them to the top. Once there, they entered a newly discovered quartzite cave system --- one of the largest and oldest in the world. The strange life forms they found inside would impress even NASA.
