On-line Newsletter Announces Poll Results

Blue Bell, PA, September 15, 2006: Senator John Kerry (D-MA) was voted “America's Most Trusted Senator” by the readers of the new on-line newsletter, the newpoliticalreview.com.

According to the newsletter's publisher, Anthony Mirabile, the purpose of the poll is to encourage ongoing involvement in the political process.

Readers selected Kerry the winner after two rounds of voting. The first votes narrowed the field to 20 senators. The second round determined the winner. Senators were ranked according to their integrity, honor, dignity and character. Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Richard Durbin (D-IL) placed second and third respectively.

Kerry, a fourth-term senator, is well-known for his 19-year participation on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Recent legislative initiatives include the Kerry-Feingold Amendment which called for the redeployment of US troops out of Iraq by July 1, 2007 and the 2020 Energy Plan. The plan outlines five major initiatives to achieve energy independence. Kerry has worked to expand health care, balance the federal budget and co-sponsored the “Count Every Vote Act of 2005.”
