Raised a Roman Catholic and wanting to become a priest, Jobson questioned the teachings of his religion, which seemed divisive, intimidating and discriminating toward humanity. Such factors, he believed, had led to many wars fought in the guise of "my God is better than your God." This zeal seemed to be the direct opposite of what Jobson’s psychic memories revealed.
Disillusioned, he was propelled into a lifelong search and study for truth and the nature of “GOD”. He traveled the world extensively, researching the different philosophies, cultures, religions and languages of various faiths. In his travels he interviewed academics, clairvoyants, mystics, astrologers, gurus, rabbis, priests, imams and other spiritual persons, dedicating his efforts to the research and study of the essence of life.

About the Author
As he ventured into the veiled realms —ontology, theosophy, eastern philosophy, religion, Kabbalah, metaphysics, UFOs and psychic phenomena —Jobson’s odyssey took him through a learning process of experiences. In this book he presents an hypothesis revealing who we are, why we are born and what our duty in this life is. For readers interested in expanding awareness, he shares a path to enlightenment that will enable each one to reach their greatest human potential.
His formal education began in Jamaica, where he attended the internationally accredited Priory School and Munro College. In 1967 he graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, UK, receiving the Queen’s Commission as an Officer; he retired from the service in 1976 as a battle group commander.
A certified hypnotist, the author has intuitively counseled others since the age of nineteen. He continues to guide those who seek his assistance, nationally and internationally, from personal sessions and class presentations to academic and spiritual groups and organizations in the USA, Britain, Europe and India. His thought-provoking technique challenges participants to look within. He is a published poet who has received an award for his poetry. A few poems are pertinent to this volume. He was listed in the International Society of Poets Who’s Who. He has been interviewed on a number of radio programs regarding his philosophy.
Jobson’s skills extend to the entrepreneurial world, taking him into a range of venues, including developing a table sauce formula, acting as an executive producer of spiritual and pop music and holding directorships on various boards, among them an international procurement company exporting US manufactured commercial and industrial goods and services. His interests and hobbies have included martial arts, skydiving, soccer, boxing and travel.
His newly published book is more than a spiritual odyssey―it is a self-improvement tool.
About the Book
Oliver Jobson learned long ago that writing about his experiences and thoughts gave him a yardstick to recollect and reflect on the growth and expansion of his consciousness as he grew spiritually.
From an early age he willingly shared his insights with friends and seekers the world over, writing journals about his findings, but Jobson did not actively pursue the challenge to write a book because he believed a book from him would be redundant. He was eventually convinced by many that a book written in his words would serve to validate and encourage others who would not otherwise have access to his philosophy. Moreover, such a publication would serve a dual purpose. It would expose many, for the first time, to the concepts he uses to describe a synergy of being that fuses mankind, nature and the universe into a common denominator. Also, it would describe the link between philosophy, religion, science and our daily life as a unifying power of One, called monism.
A significant aspect of this book is that it does not draw readers away from their respective religions. Rather, it expands the consciousness beyond the limits of dogma and mindless acceptance. Expanding the Boundaries of Self will appeal to agnostics, atheists and those of many religions. The word GOD, he explains, is not confined to any religion because it is a universal term, an acronym, referring to an organized intelligent cosmic energy that vitalizes this entire dimension of matter.
Sections of the book correspond to Jobson’s life experiences. Part I explains the conflict and challenges he experienced from early childhood through adulthood. Part II is built on what he culled from his international research, coupled with the experience he gained from an extremely difficult financial and emotional period. He learned first-hand the truth in the aphorism, “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.”
During a period that could have led to stagnation, Jobson explains, he seized the opportunity for personal reflection and stocktaking and, in so doing, developed a system of Self Discovery Analysis, SDA. Here begins the reader’s own journey in sharing an aspect of the author’s exploration and discovery of universal truth.
Part III is an entertaining anthology of ontological stories that the author uses to illustrate his method of viewing, examining, expressing and dealing with many of his personal issues. The exercises Jobson suggests can assist the reader in bringing issues to the surface and eliminating them, for the unconscious dissolves when brought into the conscious.
The values of meditation in its purest sense, as it originated in the east, are covered in Part IV. The links between mind and spirit are explained in Part V. In Part VI Jobson explores the manifestation and purpose of consciousness. All the earlier chapters lead to a culmination with this final section, offering a discourse on the origin of Being and the creation of the universe with the manifestation of human life on earth.
